Clinical Medical Assistant

Have you always wanted to join the Medical field? Become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). Did you know that Michigan is ranked 2nd in the nation for hiring Certified Clinical Medical Assistants? CCMA graduates work in doctor's offices, clinics, hospitals and beyond.
Tuscola ISD's Adult Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program
Students will learn the tasks associated with a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and will prepare to take the National Health Career Association’s (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Exam. This class portion is 140 hours in total.

*Placements of Cardiac Lead
*Phlebotomy
Class session:
Fees include tuition, books, American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification, 160 hour externship placement and National Healthcare Association (NHA) testing fees.
NHA testing done onsite at Tuscola Technology Center.
Registration must be completed 7 days prior to the start of class. Space is limited and classes fill quickly so register early!
Upon registering for this program students are required to meet the minimum requirements and complete a criminal background check.(Contact the Adult & Community Education Office for more details. 989- 673-2144 extention 30379).
Students must have a High School Diploma or a GED in order to take the national certification exam.
Computer Security Basics

Applicable for all types of devices, we welcome Windows users, smartphone owners, and anyone else who'd like to learn more about protecting themselves on the internet.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18.
What Mental Health First Aid covers
-Common signs and symptons of mental health challenges in this age group, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD)
-Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges
-How to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis
-How to connect the youth with help
-Expanded content on trauma, substance use, self-care and the impact of social media and bullying
Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems (TBHS) would like to offer this evidence-based curriculum FREE to community members on May 8 and May 9, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on both nights.
The instructors would be Seth Geister and Susan Holder, certified Instructors for Youth Mental Health First Aid.
