Course Description: Our course will provide the aeronautical knowledge required of a private pilot and prepare the student to take the FAA Private Pilot written examination. The FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test is 60 multiple choice questions. The test is taken at a PSI certified testing center (Flint). A minimum of 70% is required by the FAA for a PASS. To earn that endorsement, you must pass your ground school Final Exam with minimum score of 80%. A certificate of endorsement will be issued at graduation. Topics include: aerodynamics, engine and aircraft systems, airport operations, weight and balance, aircraft performance, Federal Aviation Regulations, meteorology, airspace, navigation and flight physiology. The Gleim Study Kit contains all the necessary study materials (including an online testing supplement) and equipment for flight lessons. Students must be dedicated and prepared "prior" to each class to be able to gain a full and accurate understanding of the information. Besides class time, students should plan to study 4 or more hours each week.

Course Goals & Objectives: The course provides the required ground instruction for Private Pilot Certification under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) 61.105(b).
