Clinical Medical Assistant

Tuscola ISD's Adult Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program
Students will learn the tasks associated with a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and will prepare to take the National Health Career Association’s (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Exam. This class portion is 140 hours in total.

Class session:
Fees include tuition, books, American Red Cross Basic Life Support Certification, 160 hour externship placement and National Healthcare Association (NHA) testing fees.
NHA testing done onsite at Tuscola Technology Center.
Registration must be completed 7 days prior to the start of class. Space is limited and classes fill quickly so register early!
Upon registering for this program students are required to meet the minimum requirements and complete a criminal background check.(Contact the Adult & Community Education Office for more details. 989- 673-2144 extention 30379).
Students must have a High School Diploma or a GED in order to take the national certification exam.
Intro to Home Dairy

Discover how easy it is to make your own dairy products at home! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn step-by-step how to make yogurt, sour cream, and an easy soft cheese using regular store-bought milk. The instructor will guide you through each process, and all supplies are included. Perfect for beginners interested in homemade, wholesome foods.
Basic MIG Welding

Instruction in: Basic welding safety and general introduction to MIG welding Basic GMAW theory GMAW (MIG) set-up and parameters for welding GMAW short circuit, spray, and pulsed spray transfer modes 1f through 2f GMAW welds on mild steel A CWI tested welding qualification from AWS D1.1 code Students must maintain high attendance to attempt this test.
Supplies provided include: Welding jacket, gloves, safety glasses, head cap, welding hoods temporarily assigned to each student, & welding supplies.
Students MUST wear jeans or appropriate work pants and leather boots to weld.
